■ 수업목표

본 세미나는 현대 심리철학의 큰 주제 중 하나인 마음의 내용(Mental Content)에 대한 여러 가지 논의를 소개하고 토론함을 목표로 한다. 전반부에서는 Frege 이래 전통적인 content에 대한 견해가 Burge나 Putnam의 외재론에 의해 어떻게 도전을 받는지, 그리고 정신 현상을 이해함에 있어 그 함축은 무엇인지 살펴볼 것이다. 두 번째 부분에서는 전통적인 견해에 대한 또 다른 도전인 self-locating belief의 문제를 다룰 것이다. 시간이 허락한다면, 마지막 부분에서 지각 경험 또한 같은 종류의 내용을 갖는지, 그리고 경험의 내용이 감각질과 어떤 관계를 갖는지 살펴볼 것이다.
