맨발 걷기의 위험성
어머니의 아는 사람의 남편이 맨발로 걷는 게 건강에 좋다고 하여 맨발로 산을 오르다 살모사에게 물려 이틀 간 병원에 입원했다고 한다. 정말 죽을 뻔했다고 한다. 혈액 순환 개선하려다가 다시는 혈액이 순환되지 않을 뻔했다.
작년 추석 때 집 근처에서 살모사를 본 적이 있다. 짜잔한 뱀들이야 많이 봤지만(그래도 볼 때마다 무서워서 몸이 굳는다) 살모사를 정면에서 본 것은 그 때가 태어나서 처음이었다. 나는 뱀이 몸을 지면에 대고 있다가 진동을 느끼고 자기보다 큰 동물이 오면 피한다고 알고 있었고 실제로 내가 본 대부분의 뱀들은 그랬는데, 이 놈의 살모사는 사람을 봐도 도망가지 않고 오히려 몸을 부풀렸다. 알이라도 품고 있었으면 모성 본능 같은 것 때문인가보다 하고 이해하겠는데 그 살모사는 아무 이유 없이 그랬다. 약간 멀리서 쿵쿵 뛰었는데도 살모사는 도망가지 않았다. 무서워서 내가 길을 돌아갔다.
산에서 맨발로 걷다가 뱀에 물린 그 아저씨는 자기의 발걸음 진동에 뱀이 피할 줄 알았다가 뱀에 물렸을지도 모르겠다. 자연이 좋다 좋다 하지만 그건 자연을 적당히 파괴하여 인간에게 유해한 것을 다 치워놓고 나서 좋다고 하는 것이다. 자연을 만만하게 보다가 자연에 묻히는 수가 있으니 항상 조심해야 한다.

2023년 추석 사진
올해 추석 인사 때 같이 보낸 사진은 나비 사진이다. 어차피 될 아재라면 차별화된 아재가 되어야겠다고 생각하고 작년 추석부터 추석 인사 때 달 그림이나 사진 대신 가을의 다른 풍경이나 소품 같은 것을 사진 찍어서 메시지와 함께 보내기로 했는데, 올해 추석에는 마땅한 것이 없어서 호랑나비 사진을 보냈다. 뒤란에 떨어진 홍시를 주워다 방문 앞에 놓았더니 호랑나비가 와서 빨아먹고 있는 것을 사진으로 찍은 것이다.
추석 때 성묘를 하고 집으로 돌아오는데 어머니께서 고구마꽃이 피었다고 하셨다. 산소와 바로 붙어 있는 고구마밭에 고구마꽃이 서너 송이 피었다. 벌초할 때는 고구마꽃이 안 보였는데 성묘 마치고 돌아갈 때 보였다.
고구마꽃은 심하게 덥고 가물 때 피기 때문에 원산지인 아프리카에서는 고구마꽃을 흔하게 볼 수 있지만 한국에서는 몇십 년 만에 한 번 볼 수 있다고 알고 있다. 10년 전쯤에 고구마꽃을 보았을 때는 고구마밭 여기저기에 고구마꽃이 잔뜩 피었었는데 올해는 몇 송이 피지 않았다.
고구마꽃을 사진 찍고 호랑나비 대신 고구마꽃 사진을 보낼 걸 그랬나 싶었는데, 막상 찍은 것을 보니 고구마꽃이라고 해도 별 게 없었다. 내년에는 조금 더 예쁜 사진을 찍기로 했다.

[강의계획서] 과학철학 과제연구: 인공지능의 철학 (천현득, 2021년 2학기)

■ 수업 개요 및 목표
• 이번 학기 세미나 수업은 인공지능의 철학적 쟁점들을 주제로 한다.
• 인공지능은 빠르게 발전하고 있으며 우리 삶의 여러 측면에 광범위한 영향을 끼칠 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 기술 발전은 의료, 교통, 교육, 안보 등에서 커다란 발전의 기회를 제공하지만, 동시에 여러 가지 위험도 내포하고 있다. 이 수업에서는 인공지능의 철학적 토대와 인공지능의 발전으로부터 야기될 수 있는 철학적, 윤리적 문제들을 다룬다.
• 이 수업을 통해 수강생들은 다음과 같은 능력을 갖도록 한다.
1) 인공지능의 간략한 역사와 발전 과정을 이해한다.
2) 인공지능의 관한 고전적인 철학적 논쟁들을 이해하고 성찰한다.
3) 인공지능의 윤리적 지위에 관해 숙고한다.
4) 인공지능의 제작 및 사용과 관련된 도덕적, 사회적, 법적 쟁점들을 파악하고, 이를 현실적인 문제들에 적용할 줄 안다.
5) 인공초지능과 실존적 위협에 관해 이해하고 이에 대비한다.

• 1) 모든 수강생은 매 수업에 성실하게 참여할 것이 요구된다. 주어진 문헌을 미리 읽어오고 수업 중 토론에 참여한다.
• 2) 발제자는 핵심 내용을 논증적으로 재구성하는 방식으로 요약하고, 이를 비판적으로 검토한다. 비판적 검토란 주요 주장에 대한 가능한 반론, 숨겨진 전제, 저자가 제시하지 않은 지지 논증, 저자의 주장이 가진 추가적인 함의 등을 포함한다. 발제문은 수업시간 24시간 전까지 제출한다.(게시판 이용)
• 3) 기말논문은 6월 21일(월)까지 제출하고, 기한 내 제출된 논문은 간략한 논평과 함께 반환한다. 기한을 넘겨 제출하는 경우 늦은 만큼 감점될 수 있고 논평을 받지 못할 수 있다.
• 기말논문 작성 시 확인사항
(1) 논문에서 다루려는 철학적 문제는 세부적이고 분명인가?
(2) 핵심 주장과 논제는 분명히 진술되었는가?
(3) 그를 뒷받침할 논증은 상세히 서술되었는가? (단순하면서도 생생한 사례가 사용되었는가?)
(4) 논증에 대한 가능한 반론들을 고려했는가?
(5) 불필요한 전문용어(jargon)나 불분명한 어휘들이 사용되지 않았는가?
(6) 퇴고 과정은 거쳤는가?
